One of the best things about a local business is that there are real people behind it, not a call centre three states away. So we’re putting a few of our team in the spotlight, starting with Tom, one of our sparkies. We fired five quick questions at him to see what we’d get. Here’s how he went.
Q1. What’s the first tool you reach for?
“Pliers.” A classic answer from a bloke who’s clearly spent a fair bit of time on the tools.
Q2. What’s one thing every homeowner should know about electrics?
“Don’t do your own electrical work.” Short, blunt, and he’s dead right. It’s not worth the risk, and in WA most of it has to be done by a licensed electrician anyway. If in doubt, give us a call before you have a crack.
Q3. What surprises people most about your job?
“How physically demanding it can be.” There’s a lot more to it than swapping the odd power point. It’s crawling through roof spaces in the heat, lugging gear, and being on your feet all day.
Q4. What’s your coffee order?
“Latte.” Noted, for the next site visit.
Q5. What’s your favourite local spot after work?
“Home.” Fair enough too. After a big day on the tools around Margaret River, you can’t beat your own couch.
